Santa Barbara's 1st Thursday

"I  just attended Santa Barbara's First Thursday and was elated to find healthy (vegan-vegetarian) savory quality foods. The response was unanimous. Everyone was very totally impressed with the quality and variety at this event. Taste...and See is a unique in-house, specialty catering service that will excite the palate and please the eye. Owner-founder Chef Brittany Gleason did an amazing job. Some of the foods prepared were: Lemon Zest Hummus with homemade Rosemary Sesame Crackers, Orange Fennel Salad with Kalamata Olives, Sweet Potato Salad with Maple Dijon Dressing, Quinoa Patties, Zucchini Risotto with Caramelized Onions and delicious Mulled Wine.  It was a fantastic evening of food and fun with great music provided by michaelobermusic.com, and decadent gluten-free desserts provided by SweetHeartsBakery.com.

Well, let me tell you...God blessed me so much by letting me "taste and see" Brittany's amazing vegan carrot cake, and it's nothing but pure heavenly delight!  I am a carrot cake freak, and I've literally had carrot cake all over the world, to include the best of the best in Beverly Hills...I have had friends swear to me that they have the "best" recipe, blah, blah, blah--been there and tried all of them, but Brittany Gleason's carrot cake is the BOMB!  There was no room for improvement.  I was raised in an Italian family with five sisters, and my father owned one of the top restaurants in Coronado Island (San Diego), and I am a major pain in the rear kind of food critic.  In addition, I have a serious sweet tooth!  I can now end my quest to search for the "best of the best" carrot cake.  This one has top billing.  It's a work of art, made with the finest ingredients and tons of love!  Hats off to you Brittany, and molto grazie!"
